Sean Carren

Sean Carren left school at 15 and did an apprenticeship as a mechanic with the City of Stirling. After qualifying, he went to work for six years with local motorsport identity Geoff Kendrick. He soon became the first full-time sprint car mechanic in Australia and he went on to be crew chief for the Kendrick Racing Team. Sean’s love of the sport is as strong now as it was then with him running his own race team alongside running the successful family business he and Dot began in 2004.

Sean and Dot started with two used prime movers in 2004, but today their business, Goldstar Transport, is comprised of more than 250 trucks and 260 trailers.
Although they started with just two drivers from a yard in Osborne Park, WA, today they have a large base in Kewdale, WA and more than 400 employees.

When Sean started Goldstar Transport in 2004, he soon ran into his first big challenge - one of his two prime movers was stolen. “The stress was immense,” he says. “We had to keep making payments on the stolen prime mover while we negotiated a payout with the insurance company and, at the same time, we had to pay for a rental truck to keep servicing our clients.”

Many employees look up to Sean for his achievements and are proud to work every day for Goldstar Transport, wearing their uniform with pride. Sean is still very much focused on the business, taking care of all his customers and workers. Sean continues to thrive on being a perfectionist at everything he puts his mind too and aims to be one of the best in the transport industry.
